Wireguard is a high-speed VPN designed with maximum performance. The Linux kernel supports Wireguard since version 5.6 was released, so Wireguard ensures minimum network latency, maximum throughput, and low power consumption on Linux-based devices (including smartphones).

Installing Wireguard VPN

To install Wireguard, just select the VPS configuration and specify the data required to create a VPS.

After the VPS is installed, the software deployment process will start, and it will take a few minutes. After the deployment is complete, you will receive an email notification about the Wireguard installation on the VPS.

Where are the configuration files for Wireguard clients?

The files for Wireguard are located in /opt/beget/wireguard/ directory.

The /opt/beget/wireguard/clients/ directory contains the client configuration files.

The /opt/beget/wireguard/wireguard.sh script enables Wireguard client configuration files.

How to add a VPN user?
  • Connect to the server via SSH: ssh root@server_ip
  • Go to the directory with the Wireguard VPN files by running: cd /opt/beget/wireguard
  • Run the wireguard.sh script with the command: ./wireguard.sh
  • Type 1 to add a user and hit Enter
  • Enter the name of your new user and press Enter
  • Select the DNS server for the new user, enter its number, and press Enter

After entering all the data, you will get a QR code to connect and the path to the Wireguard configuration file, which you can send to the new user.

How to delete a VPN user?
  • Connect to the server via SSH: ssh root@server_ip
  • Go to the directory with the Wireguard configuration files with the command: cd /opt/beget/wireguard
  • Run the wireguard.sh script with the command: ./wireguard.sh
  • Type 2 to remove the user and press Enter
  • Select the user you want to remove, type his number, and press Enter
  • Confirm the deletion by typing y and hitting Enter
Are connection logs and/or my VPN traffic saved?

All connection logs to your Wireguard VPN server are stored on the server on which it is deployed. Thus, you can manage your log storage policy on your server.
