Installing Terraria

When installing a server, you do not need to specify any additional parameters. After creating the virtual server, you will need to wait 1–3 minutes when the current version of the Terraria server will automatically be deployed on it.

The installation status will be displayed in the control panel. After the installation of the Terraria server, you will receive a notification in the control panel and at the specified contact email.

Initial Terraria server setup

Immediately after completing the installation, the Terraria server will start with the standard settings. You can connect to it by server IP address and start playing without any additional actions.

If you want to change the default settings, you need to:

  • Go to the "File Manager" of the server in the control panel.
  • In the "File Manager" go to the directory /opt/beget/terraria/config.
  • Open the file serverconfig.txt and make changes to it.
  • Save the changes in the file.
  • Restart the server in the control panel.
Pay attention!
It is strongly recommended to configure a password for login to the server and whitelist players, otherwise, anyone can connect to the server.

Where are the Terraria server files located?

How can I connect to the server console?

The server runs in a docker container, and you need to connect to the console:

Once you are connected to the container, you will appear in the server console, and you can execute commands and see the log of its work.

To disconnect from the container, you need to press ctrl+p and then ctrl+q. If you try to disconnect with ctrl+c, the server will shut down.

How can I restart the server?

To restart the server, you can either restart the server via the control panel or restart the server docker container.

To restart the docker container, you need to connect to the server via SSH and execute the following commands:

  • cd /opt/beget/terraria
  • docker-compose restart
How can I ban a player from the server?

You have to specify the player's login in the file banlist.txt, which is located in /opt/beget/terraria/config, and restart the server.
