Installation and configuration information
Installing the Minecraft server
To install a Minecraft server, you do not need to specify any additional parameters. After creating a virtual server, it will take 1–3 minutes to automatically deploy the actual version of the Minecraft server to play with friends. Installation status will be displayed in the control panel. After the creation of the Minecraft server and completion of its installation, you will receive a notification in the control panel and on the specified contact email.
Initial Minecraft server setup
Immediately after installation, the Minecraft server will start with the standard settings. You can connect to it by server IP address and start playing the Minecraft Java version without any additional actions.
If you want to change the default settings, however, you need to:
- Go to the "File Manager" of the server in the control panel.
- In the "File Manager" go to the directory
/opt/beget/minecraft-java/data/. - Open the
server.propertiesfile and make changes. - Save the changes in the file.
- Restart the server.
After that, restart the server, connect by IP address, and play Minecraft with your friends. We wish you good luck playing!

The Minecraft-server files are located in the directory: /opt/beget/minecraft-java/data/
The server version can be changed in the file /opt/beget/minecraft-java/docker-compose.yml. In the VERSION column specify the required version, for example, VERSION: "1.19.3".
After changing the version you need to rebuild and restart the server docker-container, this can be done by connecting to the server via SSH and running the following commands:
cd /opt/beget/minecraft-javadocker-compose downdocker-compose up --build -d
The server runs in a docker container. To connect to its console, you need:
- Connect to the server via SSH
- Connect to the container with the command:
docker attach minecraft-java-server-1
After connecting to the container, you will find yourself in the Minecraft server console, you can execute commands and see the log of its work.
To disconnect from the container, press ctrl+p and then ctrl+q. If you try to disconnect with ctrl+c, the server will shut down.
To restart the Minecraft private server, you can either restart the server through the hosting control panel or restart the server docker-container.
To restart the docker container, you need to connect to the server via SSH and execute the following commands:
cd /opt/beget/minecraft-javadocker-compose restart
You need to specify the player logins in the file whitelist.json, which is located in the directory /opt/beget/minecraft-java/data/, and restart the server.
You need to specify the administrator logins in the file ops.json, which is located in the directory /opt/beget/minecraft-java/data/, and restart the server.
You need to specify the player's login in the file banned-players.json, which is located in the directory /opt/beget/minecraft-java/data/, and restart the server.
Or you can use the command /ban nickname in the server console, or the game chat as an administrator.
