Installing and working with Hestia CP
When creating a server, in addition to the standard parameters, you will be asked to specify:
- Administrator Email. It will be used to enter the control panel with administrator rights. The credentials will be sent to this address.
- Username. It will be used to log in to the Hestia control panel to work with sites.
- Password for this user.
When a server is ready, two accounts will be created.
- Administrator – an account with full management rights to the entire server.
- User – an account with rights to work with sites in the Hestia control panel.
You can open the Hestia Control Panel by clicking a button in our interface. You also can open the web interface directly by: https://your-domain:8083/login/
Getting started
Creating a website
To add a site, go to the WEB menu and add a domain.
Creating a database
To create the database, go to the DB menu and create the database and the database user.
Do not forget to save the data by clicking "Save".
To manage the database panel you can use phpMyAdmin,which is available on the same tab.

You can configure a different versions of PHP in the following ways:
- Switch the sites and the entire server to php-fpm
- Manually create templates for sites and reconfigure Nginx + Apache + php-cgi
The first option is much easier and can be done almost entirely from the Hestia CP control panel. In addition, it will further allow you to install a new version of PHP on the server and apply it to the site you want, also from the panel if you want.
Here is instruction on how this can be done.
First, you need to connect to your server via SSH and run the command:
/usr/local/hestia/install/upgrade/manual/migrate_apache.shThis script will change the configuration of Hestia CP. After it’s finished, Hestia will start to work with php-fpm, and you will have templates for your sites in the control panel, which will allow you to select the desired version of PHP.
After that, you will need to install the right versions of PHP to work through php-fpm.
To do this, you will need to:
- Go to the control panel as admin
- Click on the gear icon at the top right of the screen
- Click on "Configure"
- Then click on Web Server
- Select the checkboxes next to the PHP versions you want.
- Click "Save".
Now you can change the template for the site. To do this, you will need to click on advanced options in the site settings, and in the template select the version of PHP you want and click on "Save" in the upper right corner.
SSL certificates provide confidentiality of data exchange. From the panel of Hestia CP, you can immediately set the SSL certificate for your domain. This can be done in the WEB tab.
Click on the icon "Edit", put a check in the column with SSL, and specify the necessary data.
